Baylie & Oliver

Some couples just radiate happiness the moment you meet them—and Baylie and Oliver are exactly that. Young, cheerful, and unmistakably in love, they brought the kind of energy that reminds you why weddings are such a privilege to document.

Our day began at Maylands Lodge in New Town, a place I’ve lived near for more than four years without realising such a gem was hiding just around the corner. Quiet, elegant, and rich in history, Maylands is one of those venues that stops you in your tracks.

Gloria welcomed us with the warmest smile and even gave our team a short tour of the property. We also learned that they host micro weddings of up to 30 guests, which makes perfect sense after seeing how intimate and picturesque the entire place feels.

Every corner of Maylands looked like it belonged in a magazine spread. Recently renovated and lovingly maintained, it gave us endless backdrops as we photographed Baylie and her bridesmaids. Laughter echoed through the corridors, dresses swayed in the soft morning light, and the excitement built beautifully as we prepared to head out.

Around midday, our second team headed to the groom’s preparation. Oliver and his groomsmen were already buzzing—maybe helped along by a cheeky sip of 40% alc to steady the nerves!

They were an easy, relaxed bunch to document. Plenty of jokes, plenty of laughter, and the kind of good vibes that set the tone for the rest of the day.

Our team reconvened at Citywide Baptist Church in Mornington for the ceremony. Simple, sweet, and overflowing with love, it was the perfect reflection of who Baylie and Oliver are. Their families and friends surrounded them with warmth, support, and so much pride as they said their vows.

After the “I do’s,” we made our way to a friend’s property just a few minutes’ drive away—and what a location it was. The view opened up to Mt Wellington and the Derwent River, with the sun shining generously over the whole scene.

Tasmania truly blessed these two with the best weather. Blue skies, soft breeze, perfect light. We captured some of our favourite moments here—quiet glances, big laughs, the bridal party soaking up the joy of the day.

As the sun began to soften, we headed back to Citywide Baptist Church for the reception. With shared stories, the couple surrounded by the people who love them most, it was the perfect way to close a truly beautiful wedding day.
